Hi, :30 All,
Thank you Shawna for the directions. The 8:30 start will be fine with me.
Everyone, you need to bring a working draft of your Literature Review. If you could get me a copy of it this week to preview, I can get notes started to you. You could post your lit review to the blog (preferably) or e-mail it to me. Also PLEASE post your WORKING QUESTION that is guiding your study. Please put it at the beginning of your lit review.
I have a paper that I wrote this summer on the blog. It was accepted by a journal, and I think you can get another example of a literature review by looking at that.
1. We will do a group conference on our inquiry questions and lit reviews, listening, and responding to each other with a protocol. This will take most of our time period.
2. Our next step is our IRB. I will use what time we have available to start teaching this process, but I, likely, will have to finish the lesson on our blog:http://lehuaresearch2010.blogspot.com/. We must have our IRB approved by UH Hilo and the DOE before we can begin data collection. We will be doing exempt proposals because we are doing action research so hopefully, if we can get our IRB's written and submitted in a timely manner, you can begin collecting data within 4-6 weeks.
3. In order to be successful with our research, we are really going to have to stay connected as possible and support each other with feedback as we meet the time lines we set.
I am excited to see you and be working with each and every one of you. I LOVE teacher research and love working with teachers who are making a difference in the classroom through their own inquiry.
